Arena Cinemas Sihlcity is a multiplex in the Sihlcity shopping centre, at Kalanderplatz 8, not far from Zurich's city centre. Arena's room plans list 18 rooms, from small rooms of around 40 to 50 seats up to Saal 4, the ARENA MEGA, with 521 seats and a 21-metre curved screen. Several rooms have their own format: two 4DX rooms with moving seats and effects, a ScreenX room that extends the picture onto the side walls, and Saal 5 with an Onyx LED screen in place of a projector. These formats apply to particular screenings.
Arena's programme mixes language versions. Its legend gives the spoken language in capitals and the subtitles in lower case, so "EN/d,f" means English audio with German and French subtitles. OV stands for original version and does not by itself mean English audio. Our listings here are for English-audio screenings.
Arena's directions page lists trams 5 and 13 and bus 72 at Sihlcity Nord, bus 89 at Sihlcity and the Sihltalbahn (Sihltal line) at Saalsporthalle, and puts the walk from the main station along the Sihl at about 25 minutes. Its room plans list wheelchair spaces for most rooms, but none for the two 4DX rooms.
