Kino Xenix is a repertory cinema with a bar on the Kanzleiareal in Zurich's Kreis 4, near Helvetiaplatz. It grew out of a film club founded in 1980 at the Autonomous Youth Centre Zurich and has been in a former school barrack on the Kanzleiareal since 1984. Its programme is built around curated monthly film series, selected premieres and discussion events. The cinema has both digital and analogue projection, and Xenix aims to show films in their original language.
For public transport, Xenix lists tram 8 and bus 32 to Helvetiaplatz and trams 2 and 3 to Bezirksgebäude. It notes that parking in the neighbourhood can be hard to find, and that there is bicycle parking on the Kanzleiareal. According to Xenix's accessibility page, wheelchair users reach the cinema through the main entrance via the bar, where the toilet is also located. The screening room has two wheelchair spaces, and Xenix recommends letting the cinema know in advance.
