Riffraff is a four-room cinema with a bar at the corner of Neugasse and Langstrasse in Zurich's Kreis 5. It shares its website and administration, Neugass Kino AG, with the Houdini cinema on Badenerstrasse. The building has a long film history: the cinema says silent films were shown there from 1913, and Riffraff 1 and 2 opened in 1998, followed by Riffraff 3 and 4 next door in 2002. Alongside its regular programme, the cinema runs screenings with filmmakers present, reprises and The Ones We Love, a series of classics and audience favourites chosen by public vote. Drinks and snacks from the bar may be taken into the cinema.
Riffraff lists bus 32 at Röntgenstrasse, trams 4, 13 and 17 at Limmatplatz and bus 31 at Militär-/Langstrasse. Riffraff 1 (126 seats) is listed as wheelchair accessible, Riffraff 2 (37 seats) with access to the front row, and Riffraff 3 and 4 (117 and 57 seats) via a lift.
