The Invite
A dinner party that lights the fuse
Olivia Wilde directs and stars in this comedy-drama-romance about a couple on thin ice who invite their magnetic upstairs neighbors down for dinner, and watch the evening tip somewhere they never planned. With Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, and Penelope Cruz sparring across the table, it is funny, charged, and full of the kind of talk you will keep unpacking on the walk home. At 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.5 on IMDb, it is the rare date-night film that is playful and genuinely provoking at once.
- Witty, flirty, a little dangerous
- Marriage under the microscope, told with heart
- A killer ensemble: Wilde, Rogen, Norton, Cruz
